My 485 was approved on Jan 05 and my wife is still pending, she did her FP on June. I called 1800 and said that cases got separated. The rep told that her 485 was not yet assigned to an officer and it in unit. I asked her what unit and she said it in 485 unit. What does this mean? Does it mean that it is storage or it in 485 unit and next step is assigning to officer?
I am in EB2 category and since my case was approved, will my wife be subject to visa availablity in case EB2 regrogresses in Sep?

Could mean anything ..

rpranesh,

TSC officers have been known to make up stuff to get people of the phone. The officer may have said this because the case is still pending and this was a novel way of informing you. The other possibility is that the case has just not been assigned to an officer yet. Exaclty how and when cases get assigned to officers is another mystery. Try calling them again this week and see if you get the same answer, you may get a totally different answer this time around.

Good Luck,

rpranesh,
I have experienced the same situation. I have recently received the card while my husband's case is still pending. I called TSC and I was told the exact same thing as they told you. I called 4-5 times thus far and they keep saying that everything is ok, the file is where it needs to be and no officer was assigned to it yet. SO, we are waiting patiently!
