My understanding of the below is that FP results were sent back by FBI to CIS ? Please clarify ? Because I had a different message after a week when actual FP was done.

On March 10, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.

"On April 2, 2003, the fingerprints for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were collected and are pending review."

Could you tell me what is the difference?

Ths chances are that you will be called for FP once again. It could result due to rejection by FBI. When the Finger Prints are TECHNICALLY not taken correct, they nee dto do it once again. Nothing to worry about, unless you have read the " qaida "
