Hi,

Is there anybody who can help my situation?

See below the email that I got from USCIS on Sep 07, 06
***********************************************
Application Type: I131, APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Current Status:
On September 7, 2006, we transferred your I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT to an office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in VERMONT SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.
*****************************************

The last line starting with “ You should receive a notice ….. to a local office” means NSC is going to send our 485 file to a local office or something else. If so from where I will get the notice from NSC or VSC.

My I-485 was transferred from VSC to NSC on July 13, 2006 and I got the transfer notice and I am not sure whether the physical file reached NSC or not. Here is the email message from USCIS

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On July 13, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in LINCOLN, NE for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in LINCOLN, NE will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case.
***********************************
I am totally confused.

Is there anybody in the same situation or who can give idea on this? See below my signature for details.

Sorry for posting in couple of places.

Thanks

It means that the office where you originally sent your I131 does not have the jurisdiction to adjudicate it, so they are transferring it to the correct office for you.

As per USCIS guidlines whichever center is adjudicating I-485s one has to send their I-765/131 applications to the same center. That is what we did. Our I-485 is now with NSC and EAD was approved at NSC. Then why not I-131? where is the problem? Is it because of bispecialization :)
