What does "written decision" imply?

The AVM message for status of I-485 application says "Written decision was mailed on ______". It does not sound too encouraging - can anyone please provide some insight?

It could be an intent-to-deny or a letter of denial?

No need to worry (easier said). Wait for the letter, consult your attorney and respond to the letter.

Thanks. I am a little concerned since we have had absolutely no problewm so far. RD: 6/00, EAD: 6/00, AP: 8/00, FP: 2/01. I gather you are allowed to respond to a "denied" decision? I will wait for the letter before I jump to conclusions.
