What does "LUD" mean?

Hi there,

2 questions:
1. What does "LUD" mean?
2. As I-140 is pending, can one file I-485 if his/her PD becomes current? Or one has to file I-485 after I-140 is approved?

LUD means Last update date. Whenever Officer is working on your case and update with some action, the date will be saved as LUD.

You need to register your case number on USCIS website to see the your case status:

https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp

2) You can file I-485, If your PD is current. (You need to check the option concurrent filing on I-485 application by including I-140 Reciept number)
