what does last updated day in CIS Portfolio list mean??

Tufan, just noticed your question, still 4/20 as of 13:15 EST

will post if it changes to 4/21 today. So yours changed to 4/21?

tufan, i think you will get approval soon

I believe it's the internal process date of the cases, so, whenever it moved to a new stage, it will be updated.

Tufan, I guess your case in moving into the final stage, that's why it's updated so often. hope you will be approved soon. that will approve my theory then....
 
for me, the last upated date in portfolio is 9/9/03.

Although, my EAD was approved on 2/7/04.

I got almost same thing, 9/2003 last update, that's when i updated address...

CIS just let our cases sitting there for another 6 months, can't believe it...:mad: :mad: :mad:

thanks for cheering me up. I was hoping for sooner approval just like Dec-GC2001 who got in 4-5days. But i guess i have been unlucky at this time and i always get things late in life and that's why i don't want to keep my hope up. Thanks for the kind words?

Fanshan, yes it's correct the date is being updated for both myself and my wife everyday.
 
I noticed at the time of the I140 approval, all my cases were updated includeing my H1 renewal petition that was approved before filing my I140/I485. So the links are deeper than they look like on the surface. My wife's H4 rewenal petition was not updated though.
 
My case has been kicked around too, the past 3 days got 3 updates... just sent RFE on April 16th so hopefully it means I'm about to get approved, God willing.

My wife's case, though is frozen at 3/1/2004.

Does this mean the file was re-pickedup for evaluation in 3 days?

In my case: RFE recd 6th April 2004, portfolio update 12th April 2004.
Any thoughts/idea what does this change in 6 days really mean?

Don't be disappointed. I am sure you case is just waiting for FBI/name check.

I am not sure if you know my theory!

"Dec2001 filers who had their 2nd FP's done in Sept-03 will get approval in 1 month" Provided you were cleared with RFE".
(it applies to you also somewhat).

However, in your case you haven't had one and i was afraid just like you.
here's what i suggest you to do:
1. Call 800# and request to speak to TIER II officer. Ask them any new information or what was updated in Sept-03.

2. Initiate Case Status inquiry if you haven't done that already.

3. Contact Local Senator.

You have passed almost 27 months like all of us and last thing you don't want is RFE.
I am quite confident that this will move your case.

my guess is your good news coming before this weekend or early next week.

this is not dengdeng's theory, it's all based on the activity on your case (updated daily) it's probably through the post approval stages now:

Batch and forward the I-89 and I-797 receipt notices to the file
room.
Associate the I-89 with the file. Update CLAIMS to show that the
I-89 was received.
Route to Workload Distribution for INS review.
INS will compare the I-89/I-485 photos to confirm identity.
INS will send the batched I-89s to Data Entry for update and
scanning....

if it turns out my theory not true, don't balme me of raising your expectation.:p

I think they are reviewing our cases slowly. My RFE was picked by one of BCIS staff members late friday evening.(i have fedex tracking#). I was spying on them.

Basically, they updated the website late that evening. That means some mail admin opened the envelope and updated the system.
Then when i registered on monday morning, it said that case was updated on 4/19. Then on tuesday 4/20 another update and today, on 4/21 another update.
So, your guess is as good as mine that they are most likely updating one field at a time, while drinking copy. Maybe they are entering RFE related info into the database.
There could be different channels before it goes to adjucation officer. Since RFE was related to medical, it could be a different person looked at it and then they updated the system and they passed the file to the officer. So it could be anything.

Since they have given us the power to check "last updated" it's just gives more butterflies in the stomach. Hope it's for the good.

What you say is very encouraging and I sure do hope you are right! Our cases show this as well... we registered just today and saw that our cases were touched yesterday 4/20/2004!
We had our FP2 done 3/13/2004 - online status was not updated. RD is Feb 13th 2002.
I am just curious, how do you know the detailed steps of the 485 approval process? I so so so hope you are right, my friend! :)

there was an 485op manual posted here before. the lengthy wait just make all of us expert of the process .:p

my theory could be really worng, it's just guess based on lately RFE process and my case's info.
