Called USCIS when the processing date moved to 6/01/2004 as my case was of 03/30/04. Got following reply.

In processing applications for immigrationbenefits, the USCIS is making national security our top priority. SCIS has added security checks to the processing of all applications to help ensure that those who receive immigration benefits have come to join the American people in building a bettter society and not to do harm to them. But whatever short-term impact these additional checks will have on processing will not interfere with the administration a long term goal of eliminating processing backlogs and a meeting a six-months processing standard for al immigration benefits applications. The employees of USCIS are committed t address our nation a security needs while also maintaining our country openness to those who seek freedom and opportunity that the united states has to offer..
Your applications are currently undergoing such checks. Please allow some time.
What does it mean. Does it mean that name check is pending or what ?

Please advise.....

even though my case is pending name-check, the letter to my inquiry doesn't say that

My response just says

" Service records show that your case is still pending due to the backlog of cases in our system. Because of this, a decision has not been made yet. Your case is still active and you will be notified when a decision is made. "

I learned from my congressman that my name check is still pending. He contacted both FBI and CIS and got the same info.

sunny27, you are pending name check. Period. I haven't seen you around since you posted about you code 2 FP. I am so stuck with this name check too. Just sit back and wait! Good luck to all of us who are stuck in the place of nowhere !

How to expedite name check ?

IBelieve, I got so frustrated with the fact that all my collegues got their GC approved except me. My employer did not help, just asked me to wait. When I talked to one of the lawers, he says just pray to God. Then I gave up. Lately when processing date moved, I called USCIS and got that reply. Anyways.

Is there any way I can expedite my name check so that at least that part is completed and when PD is currrent then they can take the case for approval.
Should I approach Congressman etc or any other clue ?

Any direction will be helpful....

I went to local office on my transfer to know the status. Nothing happend 7 months after the transfer. They say FBI name check is not over yet from their system. But I got a reply from FBI that they completed the check a year back and sent back the results to USCIS. USCIS says they don't have that in their system. I told them I got a reply from FBI. They say they have to get it from FBI. I am quite confused. Any idea guys?

Thanks.

I am in same boat. EB2 Sept. 2003. I was have talked with everybody including local immigration officer & NSC immigration officer. Everybody said NO. Nothing can be done at this stage. NSC immigration officer informed me that my finger prints were expired in Aug. 2005 ( end) , so they have issued a notice for the same. But this does not mean that computer will print this notice, they have lot of backlogs and we just have to wait.
Nobody have informed me yet that my name check is pending. I believe that when you receive biometerics, it means you are through with everything and that is last thing. We did biometerics on Aug. 18, 2005. My finger prints got expired on Aug., 26. If they wanted they would have approved my case before that. But another problem they had issued RFE asking for my employer's letter. We submitted the same and they received it on Sept. 1, 2005.
I got my EAD & AP reneved for 3rd time. My AP will again get expired in April 2006. I really hope that I get GC before that. I have spend so much in this reneval processes... My only question can i file Bankruptcy!!!!

sunny27, I am totally with you. All the friends I know got their approvals, most of them filed a lot later than I did. But we are just a group of unlucky guys. I did try to contact congressman and senator, they are nice but can't do anything really helpful either. I didn't even think about getting anything from my lawyer. I don't know what else we can do more rather than wait, and wish us luck!
