What does Application Recd. Date mean?

Hi, My Situation is real confusing: Kindly help
Filed 485 on 06/06/2001 in VSC.
Called IIO on Sept 19th to enquire about the case since I had not recd. the Receipt Notice or EAD.
The IIO said that my application was received on August 9, 2001 and that the EAD application is with an officer.
Coincidentally I recd Receipt Notice same day evening(Sept.19 2001)
Details on the receipt Notice:
Received Date : 06/13/2001
Notice Date : August 9 2001
My questions:
1. What do they(IIO) mean when they say they recd the application on Aug. 9th Receipt Date/ND)
2. Why is my EAD taking so long if 06/13 is the RD?
3. Can I obtain the EAD at a local INS office since its past 90 days of RD
4. What documents does one need to take to the local INS for EAD?
5. Can I get the EAD the same day at local INS or is there is a wait?

ND: 08/09/01
 No EAD yet.
I would appreciate if somebody can share their experiences of getting EAD from local INS. Does this anyway effect 485 processing( Like file transfer to local office, etc., ).

That means the IIO receivedit for processing, usuall after receipt date it takes 60-90 days for them to open the file and approve.
2. Why is my EAD taking so long if 06/13 is the RD?
I received my EAD, during 1st week of september. My RD was July 7th
3. Can I obtain the EAD at a local INS office since its past 90 days of RD
Not sure. Call the VSA center it might have got approved by now.
4. What documents does one need to take to the local INS for EAD?
5. Can I get the EAD the same day at local INS or is there is a wait?
