What does "additinal evidence" mean

Hi all,
I received the email today (8/15/06) regarding the 485.It said:

" we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed...."

What does this mean?

They want more information, their letter will detail what they are looking for.

They must to lost something...in my case they asked for a I-693 (Vaccination Record) which my doctor included in that sealed envelope along with the medical examination.
So it can be that or a copy of a passport...dont be worry. But RFE ussually extend the waiting time for a about a month or two.

We've found that the time extension is directly relative to the amout of time you take to respond. That means the day you get the letter, try to GET ER DONE.

It means RFE.

The email means that you are going to get a RFE letter (Request For Evidence). I received the physical letter six days after the email. Mine was rather extensive (please check the posting "RFE and cover letter" for details in the first page of the I-485/General Issues section). I hope you will have an easy one to reply.
