Hi all,

The question is of changing jobs after filing 485. Can I do that once I file 485. I think the rule is that I have to wait 6 months in the current job. Is that right?

What if I break the rule and change jobs in a month? How does that affect my PD and 485?

If I do change jobs, would I have to file for an H1 B transfer?

In a nutshell, it means that once your I-485 has been pending for over 180 days, you can switch employers without harm to your process.

If your employer withdraws the underlying I-140, you need to start your GC process from scratch. You will, however, keep the old PD provided your I-140 is approved.

I understand that an application for an EAD is filed along with the 485. Any ballpark estimates on how long it takes them to approve an EAD?

Once an EAD is approved, would it be safe to change jobs?
