what documents should I take for fingerprinting?

this might sound like a stupid question - but should we take any care of our hands for the printing (not that
otherwise we would cut them up
) ? are they going to print all the fingers of both hands? how long does it take?

At Boston they also wanted to see my EAD or other INS document to verify that the A# on the FP notice was correct. When I told her I only brought the driver\'s licence and FP notice, the receptionist at first told me that I couldn\'t do the FP, but then she took pity on me and allowed me to proceed.
So, although not officially required, things may go smoother if you bring some other document that has your A#, such as an EAD or I-485 receipt notice.

Yes they are going to finger print all the fingers. First they finger print 4 fingers from each hand leaving the thumb. Then they will take finger prints of each of the fingers by moving the finger roll from left to right or right to left. Mine was done with the Optical scanner and was done in couple of minutes. No preparation at all is required for the optical scanner FP. If it is going to be with ink then make sure your fingers are clean and just apply little bit of moisture to your fingers. Better do your FP early morning..may help.

What could be the cause of FP rejection? If most people get the electronic FP thing, why some people have rejection? Shouldn\'t the machine make sure it got what it needed. Some sort of validation.
My FP is scheduled on Mar 10th at Newark, NJ.
