What documents are reqd for EAD renewal?

I need to get my EAD renewed. What are the documents required for it? (Based on the problems others have faced I do not plan to file electronically)

Is it simple enough that I can do it myself (the lawyer is asking for additional money for sending the renewal application).

Also, I am on L1 and its valid till Jan 2005. The EAD expires in mid Dec. If I do not receive new EAD by that time can I still keep working legally as my L1 is still valid?

The same documents you used to get your first EAD. You should send a photocopy of your current EAD with the application as well to back up the claim that the first time application was approved.

Copy of I-485 reciept, completed form I-765, Check $120 fee payable to BCIS, 2 photographs, copy of I-94 (front and back) copy of current EAD front and back, Top portion that you received with first time EAD (that really expedite the process)
---- If your service center is VSC they may not ask for I-140 approval notice but if you know the I-140 receipt # then go to BCIS Online punch your receipt # take the print out that shows the status of I-140 approved, attach that print out. If it is NSC also send color copy of your driving license, NSC is sending RFE for color copy of DL and first page of passport that has your photograph.

No need to hire lawyer you can do it your self, on form I-765 write in item16 C 9
