What do you do with the green card?

Hi all,
I apologise if this has been discussed before.
After receiving my kids passports I received the Green Cards with the other supporting documents. I had the impresion they would keep them after issuing the Passports.
So anyway what do we do with the cards? Send them to the USCIS? I don't think its legal to keep them otherwise I would as sourvenirs:D. Thanks for your response.

At some point if you decide to apply for N600 for the kids, the GC would need to be turned back in with USCIS (at the last stage of N600 process, when the Certificate of Citizenship is ready for collection.)

Again, the N600 process would get the kids (Certificate of Citizenship), which is a non-expiring document AND prove's citizenship.

The US Passport will also prove Citizenship but will expire at some point, and you need to ensure that (US passport book/card) remains valid at all times with renewals. Should you decide to go with N600, it is best done earlier than later - when the children are staying with you full time and in school, and you have access to all documents. As time goes by, it may be difficult to gather all that is needed for N600, plus the fees for all of these filings are only going one way (UP).

You need a copy of their GCs if you're going to apply for their N-600, so if you haven't made copies already, use the GCs to make the copies now before surrendering or otherwise disposing of them.

Thank you guys for valuable info. I will make scanned copies for sure and plan to do the N-600 in the near future otherwise I will just keep the cards.
