Hi,
Could anyone please tell me what do terms like ND, PD, RFE, etc that I find in this forum mean?
I have just started browsing this site, and don\'t know these acronyms yet.

Thanks,
Sandeep

PD: Priority Date
RD: 485 Receipt Date(When your application was officially received by INS)
ND: 485 Notice Date(When INS sends out a Receipt Notice for your case)
Both Received Date and Notice Date can be found on the notice.
FP Notice: Finger Print Notice
RFE: Request For Evidence(A Request sent by INS for additional documents in order to further process your case)

Hope this helps.

Thanks Samyukta.
I guess RFE comes after FP ( Finger Printing).
Is RFE always sent out, or only in some cases.
Do you know of cases when after FP, there was just Approval and no RFE was sent out?

RFE can be issued at any stage (original I140, or at 485 too, not sure regarding Labor Processing) anyways, RFEs are not issued to all. They may issue RFE if they "need some more info about your case" (sometimes you still get an RFE even when your case is very well documented . Anything can happen.. we are dealing with INS here).

Therefore you can still get an RFE before FP too. We received it (they wanted a clarification as to how my husband, the primary appicant was in EB2 blah blah!)

I know a lot of people who were approved without an RFE throughout their process, unlike us. WE are waiting for our 485 approval still after 3.5 years. Hope this helps. and, hope you don\'t get stuck like us and many people here with an RFE.

Happy Processing

Hi,
I THINK that you are OK. My husband went to school here and he had not PHYSICALLY received the Degree (though he finished all his courses and thesis, in most of the universities, finishing all the course work means a "Graduate Candidate" .On this basis, we showed them all the documentation, and also a letter from his advisor and then we had the RFE cleared.

I still am not 100% sure about your case, but i think you should be fine.
