What constitutes an Emergency or business for AP?

In the insructions of the I-131 application Sect III, Sub Sec B, Paragraph 1, there is a line that states:

"You may apply if you have an adjustment of status application pending and you seek to travel abroad for emergent personal or bona fide business reasons."

What constitutes a emergency or business reason? Wedding, funeral, bank deposit?

Death or critical illness in the immediate family is pretty much what I have heard. On the whole I have been advised that emergency AP is not generally carried out. On the other hand you have nothing to lose by asking. Add a letter to your package stating why you need to travel and keep your fingers crossed.
