What can we do to trigger FP notice?

Hi All,

can you guys please post your experiences if you think you have done something (like sent in EAD/AP renewal or did change of address etc.) to trigger FP notice. I am here trying to understand how USCIS sends FP notices.

Thanks for all your responses.

I didn't do anything lately, it just showed up in my mailbox one fine day, the status msg wasn't even updated.

Same here....after a LONG wait! but i did call USCIS to inquire and also sent a mail to Senator but I doubt that that did anything...

I did change of address applied EAD but nothing is working out. Let's wait and see.

I believe, Maryland residents are not receiving the FP notices. Is it true?

I am in NYC...and i don't know why they would exclude Maryland.

Guys,

I had the same experience as Joyd. I received FP notices for myself and my wife last week. I didn't receive any email message from USCIS and there is no change in online status/message. Wondering whether VSC stopped sending emails/updating the message or it just happened for a couple of cases.

Concurrent Filing I140/485
Notice Date - 1/2/2004
EAD/AP - 04/14/2004
I140 - ??
485 - ??

I got the FP notice and the online status was updated as well for self and spouse. I also received the emails in my account.

I have called USCIS to check why I did not get FP notice. The site was first updated that they have responded to my request, after about 10 days of my call. About 2 weeks after that, I got the FP notice and have got it done on 11/5/2004.

GC_GoneCase,
which number did you call and what did you ask for? can you please tell us?
I applied EAD renewal on 10/20/04. That did not trigger FP yet.

As far as I know, the FP notices are generated by the ASCs themselves so, once your case information has been sent to them, there is probably nothing you can do through the VSC office that would affect the notice being sent.

If your ASC is in a busy area, it will probably take longer to get the FP done than if it is in a quiet area.

anxious_gc,

You know you can go for early walk-in for the FP right? You might wanna do that instead of waiting.

I called the regular customer service number (800) 375-5283.

I checked with them that the people who have filed after me were getting the FP notice, why not me.

That might have triggered it or it could have come at its own, I do not know.

Hello,
I still haven't gotten an FP notice nor a website status update. I changed my address around 5 months ago and I'm worrying that they may have sent a notice to my old address. I'm not sure what they would do in such an event (would they notify the lawyer or update the website message) and what I can do to identify/clarify the situation. Any ideas?

I don't think they exlude the applicant from Maryland. I believed it might be transfer to local office in Baltimore, since it is processing faster than vermone itself. One of my friend filed his I485 in August and manually scan the status on his filing date, he found out that many files were transfer to Baltimore.

Hope this information help.

I live in Maryland, and I received 1FP for me, spouse, and child, FP done Oct 25 (see signature). Also my friend (and spouse) from MD received 1FP (done in early Oct), they filed I-485 in sept 2003
FP done in Baltimore

I moved about 2 months ago, and filed AR-11 to inform them the change of address, and called NSC hotline to change address to all pending cases (485, EAD, AP). The NSC hotline call generated an acknowledgement (postal mail)that they have changed my addresss.

My ND for 485 was March 04, I got the FP in Nov 04. It took longer than a lot of other people in this forum. I called them a couple of times before that, faxed them, but I am not sure anything did the trick, or just that it was time to adjudicate my I-140 so they looked at my 485 file also.

In any case, the online message didn't change when FP was sent to me. They appear in my mailbox at my new address. My lawyer received a set of notices too. I would bug the lawyer a little to get them to inquire.
