Hello,
I just want to know long it can take for me to get a US Green Card.
1. I am married
2. Both my sons are US Citizen ( 4yr old and 5 months old)
3. My brother is a US Citizen.
4. I and my spouse are both Australian Citizens and both born in India.
5. My brother is applying for my parents for their Green Card.

If some can tell me what is the quickest way for me to get the GC.?
Thanks.

Employment

1. Unless to US citizen or LPR, it doesn't matter
2. Not until they are age 21
3. He can file; it is many years based on your country of birth
4. Aussie citizenship does not matter. Whay are you now abandoning the country that graciously gave you citizenship?
5. Your parents can file once they become citizens - not before.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
Actually as all my family is going to be in US so that was the reason we also wanted to migrate there.
Can you give us an estimate how much time it can take if my brother who is a citizen will file it and also how much time it can take if my parents will file it.

Thanks again.

check the visa bulletin as above, it should give u a rough idea of how long/quick it is. For ur parents to apply for u, they have to wait till they are naturalized, thats like 5 years to 5.3 years after becoming an LPR, and then petitioning for u (and family) as married children of usc 21+ of age catagory.

Given your circumstances, the fastest way is via employment. If you have the right qualifications and find a willing employer, you can get a work visa to move to the US within a few months. Then you can stay and work with that visa while your green card is in progress, which would be somewhere between 6 months and 10 years, depending on whether your qualifications and the job involved meet the criteria for you to qualify in a higher or lower preference category.

The fastest family-based method available to you is via your brother, and that would take about 10 years.

If your parents were to file for you, that would take some 8 years, on top of the 5 years they have to wait to become citizens before they can file for you.

How did your sons get US citizenship? Born in the US while you were a student or visitor? Are you in the US now?

In addition to what Jackolantern has suggested, there is a possibility of you winning the lottery too. This option is open if you or your wife were not born in India.

The quickest was is delivering Osama to the US govt, US Congress will immediately bestow hero citizenship on thee and thy family. Unless you get an H1B visa, wait it out till your get a GC, wait another 5 years before applying for US citizenship. So, we are talking about 10 years or so, which is the fastest.
