What are the protections for a TD holder

Dear Gilbert and other senior members of this forum

I am a silent observer of the forum since last 1.5 years.
I have some question about US the asylee.

What happens when a asylee with US travel documents loose his travel document in other country? Say Thailand? Ho he can come back to USA without Travel Document?

Do US embassy help him/her to get her back to USA?

And if he got in any kind of problem will US Embassy in that country help him/her as they help a US citizen?

What happens is you have to apply for a new RTD which is delievered to the U.S embassy where your passport was lost. I thikn they do provide expedited service if that happens to you...but dont lose it..its a nightmare!!!
 
You can apply for a replacement RTD from overseas. CIS regulations specifically envision this (which by the way, also instruct officers to look at if you used your country's passport).
