What are the chances that the changing of address triggers case transfer?

Is it pretty common to see the case transfer to the local office after you change your address to a different state? What are the chances?

Hi Chandra,
Can you give me some more details on this. Why your case was tranferred from TSC to LA? Is your case filed at TSC while you reside at LA? How long it took to transfer your case from LA to Santa Ana. I mean, when did you notify about change of Address? What is the process for Change of Address communication while your case is in Local Office. My file is in SFO and I am planning to move to San Jose area. San Jose is processing cases much fatser than SFO. Do you think they move the case from SFO to San Jose, since they are very close to each other? thanks.

Mine didn't

I don't know about CSC, but I moved from Pennsylvania to Maryland (VSC). My I485 was approved by VSC without transferring to local office.

Case History..

My 485 was filed on 02/15/02 in TSC while I was in Texas.
Moved to Anaheim (comes under Santa Ana LO) in Jun '03. And changed the address promptly (One of the big mistake I have done!).

When my case was about to be approved in TSC during May'04, instead of approving, they transferred to Los Angeles.

When they opened my file in LA local office during Sep'04, they realized that my file should go to Santa Ana (as per Zip Code). And transferred to Santa Ana Local office

Now I am just waiting for a word from Santa Ana office.

vmchandra,
Just because both of ours got transferred after an address change still does not mean that the chances are 99.9%. That's an awfully high number to give without any evidence to backup your guess.
