What are "all" the requirements?

Hi,

On the USCIS web page for some reason not all the requirements for citizenship are shown. For example, it doesn't say SSS registration is required (I found that info elsewhere).

So anyway I'm trying to make a list of all important requirements (other than physical presence, good moral character, history knowledge):

1. 5+ year permanent resident

2. 5 years tax return (the 1040 copies will do?)

3. SSS registration

Any other registration must be done, or anything else?

Blood donation at least once a year?

The majority of naturalization applicants are not required to register for Selective Service.

If you are a man and between the ages of 18 and 25 then you will need to register for SSS. Not otherwise.

tax returns are not required in most cases unless you file based on 3 yrs marriage

So I guess the answer is "no" ?

Nothing else is required other than SSS registration (I am male, <25), tax returns, and over 5 years of permanent residency?

Well,

obviously you need to have some papers (evidence) for all the questions on the N-400.
i.e. if you traveled outside the US, you should be able to document that.

However - that doesn't quite apply to your question. That was more about the very basics of being eligable to file.

If you were at least 18 but younger than 26 when you applied for your green card, the INS probably registered you automatically for Selective Service (provided that you did it after they started the automatic registration). This is from the year 2000 version of the I-485 instructions:

Selective Service Registration. If you are a male at least 18 years old, but not yet 26 years old, and required according to the Military Selective Service Act to register with the Selective Service System, the INS will help you register. When your signed application is filed and accepted by the INS, we will transmit your name, current address, Social Security number, date of birth and the date you filed the application to the Selective Service to record your registration as of the filing date. If the INS does not accept your application, and if still so required, you are responsible to register with the Selective Service by other means, provided you are under 26 years of age.

The requirements vary depending on circumstances. The best place to read about them is M-476 Guide to Naturalization, and also the N-400 Instructions

Common requirements are:
- minimum 90 days residency in a district, at the address shown on your State Id (drivers license), which will be checked at time of interview.
- 3yrs/5yrs continuous residence, with no single absence longer than 6 months, and no obvious back-to-back long absences without a cast-iron explanation.
- 18mths/30mths physical presence
- selective service registration if appropriate, or possibly a "status letter" if you were supposed to register but didn't.

Optional extras (depends on circumstances):
- income tax returns (married to USC, or long absences)
- proof of mortgage/lease/family/close ties to US (long absences)
- proof of marriage, kids (married to USC)
- court certified case disposition (citations/arrests/convictions)
- proof of child support (divorce)

There's probably more, but that should give you somewhere to start. See also the forum sticky covering which docs to take to interview.

No. The 30 month (900 days) physical presence only accumulates on days when you are physically present on US soil. Days when you either depart or arrive the country are however given full credit.
