What an inquiry by a Senator can do ?

Imagine I know a senator able to initiate an inquiry at NSC and check status of my I-485.
My I-485 RD=02/23/05, PD=April 2002.

Do you think such inquiry can help me at all ?

Your RD is Feb, 2005. The current posted processing times are for RD of Jun, 2004. I do not see any point in initiating an enquiry, either by you or the senator. Just wait in line like everyone else.

I don't believe senator will make inquiry for you if your RD is after the published processing date. Just wait for a few months...
