What all do I need for Interim EAD

Hi folks,

    Am planning to go the Sacramento local INS to get an EAD card. What all document do I need? I have a photocopy of the I-485 receipt but do not have copy of I-765 receipt. Will I need that? What else should I take? Anyone\'s got any experince at the Sacramento office? Thanks

You need to take a copy of the original EAD application. You also need to take your receipt to show that you sent in the original EAD application. I can\'t remember if there is anything else required. BTW you shouldn\'t need to pay again when you go down to the INS in person since you already paid on your original application.

Did you get your EAD approval or not? If you did, maybe you need to check the possibility to get an interim EAD.

My EAD has been approved on 5/15/01 and still no cards yet... so I figure I better go and get the interim EAD and its the documents that I need for the interin EAD that I need to know. Thanks

sorry I forgot to mention that its an interim ead that I am after... (approved on 5/15 and still no cards) originals of all receipts with my lawyers.. don\'t have the 765 photocopy.. but have the 485 receipt copy..

To get interim EAD, Can I go to any INS office? My place of residence comes under San Jose. I heard that for San Jose office one should be there by 2:00 A.M in the line.
Any suggestions which INS office I should go?

Just called my lawyer..
She tells me that an interim EAD would not be issued if the original one has been approved.
This is a real trap.... stupid @#*&%^&^$&^ INS
anyone with contrary experience?

Really? But I did read some message in this board that some people
got their interim EAD card even it was approved.

I hope what your lawyer said is wrong.

I believe you can only go to the INS office which has jurisdiction over your residence. I know for a renewal EAD a co-worker of mine had to go to San Jose and I have heard of people attempting to go to the SF INS and being directed back to the San Jose office.

Yes, some IIOs will refuse to issue interim EAD if
the peitions are approved. They will tell you to
just wait for the card. You have to be persistent
and explain to them that you need one for work
authorization.

Thanks for your replies. I called my lawyer yesterday and he says that 90 days from ND not from RD to get an interim EAD. My ND is 04/10/01 & RD is 03/23/01. AVM says EAD is approved on May 23rd.
Is 90 days from ND or RD?

But lots of people got their Interim EAD card 90 days after RD.
Who is right? Please response.
