what after I140 approval ...

Hi all can someone help me understand I140 approved and my understanding is got to wait for my priority date to become current to file for I485 (is this correct ) and if so its been over 120 days since my I140 has been approved ..Can one switch jobs at this stage or might not be a good idea ...? I request any knowledable person to guide me through plss...I appriciate everyones feedback and guidance.

Hi,

Are you on EB2 or EB3? First you need to make sure you are eligible for the AC21:

* New employment must be the "same or similar" occupational classification;
* Form I-140 has been approved, or is approvable when filed concurrently with I-485;
* Form I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days.

If you are on EB3, then you cannot use the above. If you have a H1b, you can transfer and extend it. With an approved I-140, you can extend H1b for another three years.
