I can understand how SSN or Credit Card # can be used for illegal activity. But don\'t understand with A#. What kind of illegal activity can be done using A#. Could somebody provide me in details..I just got my 485 approved and I never bothered about my A#.

card, he can pass the I-9 check by showing these two documents.
But still he need to put down the A# on the I-9 form. If he
doesn\'t have a legal status, he can put down an arbitrary number
there. Human resources don\'t check with the INS. But the faked
A# he put down may be the same as that of any real PRs.

tred to use my green card but always failed. The human
resources refused to look at my green card after I
put down the A# because by law it was enough for
them to document my Driver\'s license and SSN card.
I mentioned once my green card was rejected
as an ID form at a zoo when I renewed my memebership.
Last week, I picked up some parcel at the US Post
Office. I showed my green card to them but they
refused to accept it as a form of identification
because they had no idea what it was. "The
US Department of Justice" on the card does
not look impressive to these federal workers.

Now that that\'s through, who gave you the right to bash others around? You are extremely rude and should be taken off this board. Maybe one day, the use of SSN by private organization will be
banned by law and by then credit card issuers will seek to use
other numbers like A#. Citizens will be issued C# too so that
banks can use that too for citizens.
If the idea of a national ID really become a reality,
what number do you think the government will use?
