What a waste of $$$

By Gods grace our case got approved on 09/30/04. Since our EAD and AP are due for renewal so my company mailed the application for EAD and AP renewal to USCIS on 09/29/04. For whatever reason my company was against taking back the packet from USCIS.
just now checked my Bank account and found that INS have depositied the check for $340(EAD & AP Renewal for my wife). For me it is paid by my company. what a waste of $$$. They dont have a system to check for the Status of 485 when they accept the application for EAD and AP. But then my LUD changed more than two time after the approval. I guess it was for the EAD and AP.
If USCIS needs more money then they have to request for bigger budget and not from we immigrants.

You should be happy and grateful that your I-485 has been approved ahead of published processing time, and not worry about money spent on EAD,AP app. Especially in your case, your company paid, so it does not even come out of your pocket! Just enjoy your GC, and let the rest of us still waiting worry about unfairness of USCIS

This is very common now-a-days that CIS builds its budget on Immigrants money!. If you see most of the cases they have approved, they made all of them to atleast spend more than $1000 on an average for all applications. There is nothing much we can do as we cannot wake up a person who is pretending to be sleeping. ;)

BTW. How is post GC life ? My dates are same as yours including your first 5 EAC numbers and I am really    the way CIS is processing the applications.....

I want to do 'Maha Yaganam' to change the minds of working people in VSC :D .So that their mind will work properly. :D :D . They are really some type of Bunch.......... :p

gc-despo,
I guess u did not understand my point. I paid $340 for my wife EAD and AP. It was not totally covered by my company. I could have sent that same $$$ for somebody's education back in India. We should pay only where it is needed. I was just saying that USCIS dont have any proper links between each application process(485-EAD-AP-FP-????) .
It took almost 2 yrs for my 485 alone. I dont think it is a short time. If you think of what all the process they need to follow to process a application, this period is way too long. 3 years back this same USCIS(INS) were processing the applications in less than 9 months. Bcos of all these security checks add another 1 or 2 months. Even then it should be less than a year. I was just voicing my concerns for the delay.

Congratulations! :)

I would gladly trade places with you as far as approval is concerned for $340. :)

Alright, ram03 now chill...

Enjoy your new freedom...

People come to these forums to find answers and to find solace. It is our sense of humor that keeps us going...

I totally understand your frustation, but as we all know that USCIS department is pretty much like a GOVT department in India ( I think GOVT department is lot better in many ways as you can get things done by other ways :p ) and there is very little connections between applications. As we all are facing the descrimination in the way the USCIS is approving the applications of mid-2003 cases and lots of applicants are waiting from 2001 and 2002...... and there is not much we can really do about it than showing our frustration.

Actually, we should thank Mr.Rajiv and all other concerned people for filling a case against CIS about the improper processing and letting the CIS know about the amount of money and time wasted. My 2 Cents!

Cool down buddy and chill out. People are ready to pay more if INS wants to start a premium processing for 485.

If you still want your money, I have an idea. Take an Infopass appointment to talk to an IIO. Explain clearly the problem you have.

They will definetly help you.

Honestly, I do not think CIS is as bad as some of you claimed. In 2002, I applied for my H-1 under regular processing. My F-1 OPT would expire at the end of June, and I submited my H-1 petition in early Feb. I did not hear anything back from CIS even till early-mid June. So I wanted to switch to premium processing, and company mailed out $1K check to CIS. The day after the packet was mailed, my H-1 was approved. I had thought the $1k was a waste too. But a week later, we got an mail from CIS with that check inside.

joyd,
it is not funny man. It is not $340 i was talking abt. Anyway there is no point explaining to u.
have fun

If USCIS not taken that 340
one thing is sure you will not give to school building in india as you boast.

It will be with your other bank balance - just piling up in creepy crap

Friends,
This forum is there to help each other and express ones concern with respect to immigration matters and not to scold or show your frustration against each other. So please maintain some respect to each other when writing replies and instead of bringing unnessary arguments in this forum, you are not only wasting your time and also all other forum members time. My 2 Cents!

ram,

I exactly know what you are talking about, just take it easy man!! I lost 3 months on my EAD renewal myself. Logic doesn't apply when you are talking about VSC, so don't even try to set things right here. Just take the 485 and enjoy your life.

:)

IT"S WASTAGE OF THIS FORUM'S Resources and OUR Time

Why don't you understand that IT"S WASTAGE OF THIS FORUM"S Resources and OUR Time by discussing this kind of USELESS thing. To discuss about wastage of your resource ($340) you have wasted much more in terms of Time of readers and Resourcess of this site.

 JUST SHUT UP AND ENJOY

BTW, Congratulations!!! :D
