Welfare or other benefits to parents

Hello,
my parents recently received their green cards and are not employed.I was wondering if they are eligible for any benefits such as financial aid or maybe food stamps?
They received their permanent residence through me,I am a US citizen and sponsored them.

I assume you signed an I-864 for them? If that is the case, I find it odd that you now want to know if they can receive food stamps. You do realise what you signed and handed to the US government, right?

They may be eligible receive some medical benefits through MEDI-CAL.
 
fully agree with Triple citizen's comments. Go back and read the affidavit of support you signed. You are responsible for providing those benefits not the govt.
