Hello,
I filed my I-751 back at the end of January to remove my conditional permanent residence.
I got an NOA and then an approval letter requesting me to go the san jose office to give 3 photos.
Once there, they fingerprinted me, took my old conditional green card and my approval letter. They also stamped my passport.
Today 6/6/05, I received a 'welcome notice' saying that I will be receiving my 'conditional permanent residency card' which will expire in another 2 years.
Now, why would I receive a welcome notice for a 'conditional' permanent residency card if I just filed to remove the condition? Anybody else got the same problem?
I called the CSC center and they told me that it is an error and that I should receive my 10-year card not a 2-year card. They also told me that if I don't receive my card in 60 days from the last fingerprinting date (end of April 2005), I should go back to the INS office with my approval notice. However, they took my approval notice and I do not have a copy of it. All I have is a stamp in my passport saying that my I-751 and I-89 have been approved and that my residency has been extended to April 2006.
Anybody else is in a similar situation?
Thank you so much for your help,
