Welcome Notice = Approval Notice?

I got emails that welcome notice was sent, GC ordered and sent and approval notice sent. However, I received welcome notice and plastic card only but I didn't receive the approval notice (mailed on 02/16). Is that normal? Is there a separate I-485 approval notice? Resident since ... on plastic GC reflects the date when the welcome notice was sent (02/13)... Anyone can shed some light? Thanks!

PS. My EAD extension was denied since I-485 is no longer pending

The card supercedes the approval notice The notice is routine. I would be worried if you received approval notice but no card (after 30 days). Relax and enjoy your card

You do not need EAD. GC replaces EAD permanently (unless you commit a felony)

The card came with the notice of approval. The card is never mailed by itself. It is attached to the approval letter. There is no separate approval letter.

Hey Javaguy,
I see that you used AC21 to change jobs.
did you file AC21?
and any RFE regarding AC21 before 485 approval?

Hi Katewill,

Yes, my lawyer filed AC21 paperwork and there was no RFE. It is possible that this helped my case to go forward. Although my security checks had been cleared in May 2006, NSC was thinking that they weren't until someone actually took some time to check what was wrong with my case. It could be a fax I sent, an NSC officer with whom I spoke or... AC21 (which made them to examine the case).

Good luck with your GC!
