Hello.

I had interview in august 2006 in NY , and i have my N400 PLUS my green card reciept number added in USCIS's online portfolio.

My N400 case status disappeared in june and I got the letter for interview for august.

and my Green card online status was last updated on July 2002. and it said " your case is approved on this date and blah blah"

Now the thing is that my green card online status changed september 2006, and now it says : removal of condition and card was mailed to applicant:

well the case which was approved in 2002 got updated now... why? did someone touch my A file ?
and i didnt recieve any oath letter , and my N400 case status update date is same as before not changed at all after interview.
has this happened to someone else ??

thank you.

Interesting. "removal of condition and card" does not sound very
nice. Not to scare you, but your GC application is reviewed when
you apply for N400.

Was your GC marriage or employement based?
Would USCIS have any reason to believe it was obtained fraudulently?

You can always call up the USCIS and ask them.

What do you mean by your green card case?

Do you refer to the I140 or the I485.

The I485 case will just say the cards were being processed.
I140 should say that case is approved.

Either way its unusual. Both my cases say what they have
always stated for years and years.

Okay.. maybe i didnt explain it right in a hurry...

1998 applied for adjustment of status thru marriage.
1999 recieved conditional green card ** my green card reciept number staus
2001 applied for removal of conditions
july 19 2002 application to remove conditions was approved.

*** my 10 year green card reciept status always said ** this case is approved on july 19 2002, if more than 30 days have passed blah blah***

april 2006. applied for n400, went to interview in august.
** in august 2006 my green card status was same as above and my n400 online status was not found***

now here is the weired thing..
in september 2006 ( after one month of my citizenship interview ) my green card online status date changed sept 10 2006 and now it says

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Card Mailed

On July 19, 2002, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.

and again my n400 status is not found. i made infopass appt and was told my n400 case is still pending, when i asked officer if any letter was mailed to me regarding my case, he said NO.. it is still pending, thats all.

so i wonder, why my already approved green card status was updated after more then 4 years. while my n400 case is still pending and case status nor found online.

what u guys make of it? Thanx again.

Dont loose sleep over it. My suspicion is that somebody just went over the GC file to consider your application and they just updated the old status in the passing. Unless there is something fishy about your marriage, why are you even worried about this?

I don't think there is any problem with your case. If you want to be reassured, you should make an infopass appointment.

I should mention my case is employment based so my situation
may not be reflective of yours.

Thanx for input guys,

I just came back from home country 2 weeks ago, all young men in the range of 18 to 35 were sent into secondary inspection, and i was one of them.
At JFK they just asked what did u do, do u have military training, do u belong to any relgious group, anf what cities of pakistan did u travel to and for what purpose. they were noting all that down on paper. me and one other guy i talked to were asked basically same questions, and he was US Citizen. i THINK ITS NORMAL PROCESS FOR PEOPLE COMING FROM CERTAIN COUNTRIES.

well in december it will be 120 days after my interview, so i am not sure if i should file for any lawsuit.
