We mailed you a notice requesting additional evidence.....What does it mean?

After long time I got LUD on my case as below,

On July 9, 2007, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.

I have not received any email or US mail.
What can this be?
Will I get the mail or lawyer will get this mail?:confused: :confused: :confused:
 
This means you have got RFE on your case. They want some more documents related to your case. The notice will specify which document they are looking for.
 
RFE. That's what it is. MY guess is, since you changed your address they might want your employment verification.

I changed my address on 5/24/07 also. I will try to follow your case.
 
If your I-485 Case has an Attorney on Record, your RFE will go to the Attorney.
Calling USCIS will not help in any way, you just need to wait till your Attorney receives the RFE. Then the reply has to be give in a reasonable time.

USCIS requires further evidence, it could be with reference to Medicals or Employment Verification or Copies of your Passports. It could be anything, you will know only after you receive the notice physically.

In one way its good because someone is looking at your file and once USCIS receives a satisfactory Response to the RFE, you are closer to approvals.
