watxh out today

Even though I did not watch/listen C-SPAN, based on Rsur's snapshot, the discussions seem to be pragmatic and sane.

H1: Given the market scenario and job postings (H1s need not apply, no visa sponsorship, etc.), it makes sense to bring it down to the previous 65K limit.

L1: Even though some companies do pay normally and also L1s pay taxes, in general L1s are paid less or paid with per-diems resulting in abuse of taxes. L1 also has more leeway compared to the H1 labor irrespective of a tight job market. L1 rules definitely needs to be tightened.

Even though lot of people tirade against these politicians, most of these politicians are aware of the global economies and also the amount they can limit businessess (none). They may be able to stop few govt related work to be outsourced citing security, etc. but they cannot stop the regular businesses.

Honestly, a better implemented H1/L1/GC, etc. works better for all if all the loopholes are plugged.

So does it mean we may have a decision on these bills on Friday ??

Thanks

What decision???????? It's just committee hearing, they are not voting for this bill in the house/senate on Friday.
