It is annoying to not get any feedback from these folks at the embassy..... I wish you good luck to get that before you pay a visit to the office...
How did you manage to fill the Birth place details in the "Spacious" SC form? They have asked all possible details (Tehsil, District, State and Country)....?
I went to the DC office in person about 2 weeks ago to apply for SC and was not lucky...... After a couple of back-and-forth reasoning attempts...... they gave me an interpretation of their online instruction that "Only those who have already applied for OCI/PIO can apply for SC in person".... So much for online guidelines and vagueness....
I am thinking of submitting the OCI and SC in one packet... and got stumped at the Birth Place entry....

gc4us - so from your experience, even if I have applied by MAIL and because there was no response for 25 days now and I pay a visit to the embassy, I should not be expecting any response on the status ?
I am thinking of going next tuesday anyway - shall keep you posted.

linuxrox - As we all know, these consulates/embassies are avatars of inconsistency....
If you are closer to the DC region, you can give it a shot. It might have been my bad luck that the persons at the counter were not so helpful on that day.....
One additional query..... Did you fill out all the names Tehsil, District, State...... for the birth place in the SC form?
