want to sponsor my sibling for green card, and no birth certificate available...

I am a US citizen, and want to sponsor my brother (and family) for a US green card.

First question: Neither of us has a birth certificate. I have an OCI card, and my brother has an Indian passport, both of which state the names of our parents. Would that suffice as proof of relationship? If not, what do we need to get to establish proof to file the I-130?

Second question: What is the process for sponsoring a sibling? Is it easy enough to do oneself or do I need to go through a lawyer?

Go to the State Department website and consult the reciprocity table for the country of birth as it relates to birth records. USCIS uses the same information.

IF you are 21 or older you merely file an I-130 petition and wait a decade or more for a visa to become available. YOU DO NOT NEED A LAWYER FOR THIS.
