Walkin AP denied in San Francisco

My application for advanced parole was denied today at San Francisco office.

Here is my situation -
My father has suffered a stroke couple of weeks ago and want me to go and spend some time with him before it is too late. Meantime, I am waiting for my approval of I-485 at VCS (RD 03/25/2002).
I also have my application for AP pending with VCS (RD 11/10/2003).

Since I have been denied a walk-in AP, what are my options. I took with me the doctors certificate, travel ticket that I purchased, letter from my employer approving myt leave and receipts for my pending applications at VCS.

Please advise.
Do I have other option than abandoning my 'Adjustment of Status' to go and see my father?

seek local congressman's help

explain the genuine situation.

If you can convince them, some of them can help.

Hope your father feels well soon.

Sorry to hear your plight..

Did you try any of the sub-offices, serving your area?

Also, what reason did they say for denying the issuance of emergency AP?

On another note, just try going to the same office on a different date/time, with any additional document (or) proof of relationship listed in the uscis web-site.

If nothing works, you can always take a chance and visit your home country discreetly.. just ask your contacts in the US to mail you the AP (upon approval).. but this route will be extremely risking your I-485 dreams, please travel only if all other venues fail to help.

If you decide to do so, I would suggest mailing a detailed explanation letter stating your emergency travel reasons pending AP approval, with all necessary documentation to the VSC director, by certified mail with return receipt (with or without your lawyer's help). If you do so, attach a copy of the emergency AP denial proof from SFO office (if you have one) with your letter.

My 2 cents..

Hope your father feels better soon...

try by applying San Jose office ,if that allows. Or by talking to VSC/Customer service line if that helps.Leaving the country without approved Ap in hand is 100 % unsafe return.

AP

Hope your Dad feels better soon.

1. try going to another INS office? What about ASC's do they do AP?

2. Do you have a backup H1?

To tell you the truth, you Father comes first and GC process doesnot come anywhere near to him.

Go home he needs you, forget the GC dream...

Hope you will be lucky... not like me... couldn't even see my father last time even I reached there within 24 hours.

You may have to call again and again until you can reach an Immigration caseworker.

It is easier to contact your Congressperson's office.
Do you know who is your representative ?
or, what is your zip code ?
