Walk in FP

I have seen a number of posts where people have done "walk in FP". Can anyone share how does it work? Do you have to speak with a supervisor or officer at FP office to get approval for walk in FP? Or is it that you just walk in and explain your case to the person at the entrance?

Thanks

Walk in FPs should only be attempted if you really can't make it it to your original schedule instead of thinking it will someohow speed up the naturalization process.
That being said, if you need to do a walk in FP go to your DO on Wednesday or Saturday to see if they can accommodate you.

Here is what I did..

I was going to be overseas on the day my FP was scheduled. I walked in with my e-tickets and the receptionist wrote OK on the notice and the rest was easy..

Hope this helps.

Today's Threat Level: Yellow

I went for FP this morning.

There was a sign on the wall.

Today's Threat Level: Yellow

I don't remember the exact words, but along with other things, it was something which meant that they will take only people who have scheduled appointment today.

So maybe they take Walk-ins when the Threat Level is Green.

Just guessing.

No questions asked

I received my FP notice on Monday, Aug 10 - for an appoitment with Alexandria, Viriginia ASC a couple weeks in the future, i.e. in late August.

I live about 10 minutes from the ASC office, so the next morning (Tue, Aug 11) I stopped by there around 7:45AM. There was a line of approximately 15 people in front of me.

At 8AM the office door opened and we all went inside - at 8:05am my turn came, they took my FP appointment notice and without any questions stamped it and handed me the paperwork to fill out, no questions asked.

There was practically no wait. After I completed my paperwork - the lady immediately took my case and processed me, so I was out of there by about 8:15AM.

I chatted with the technician and the clerk - and they were both friendly and nice to me.
