Waiting time for work permit issuance

If you have applied to TSC it takes more than 3 months. If you have not yet applied - You can go to the local district INS office wherever you reside along with the 485 receipt and get the EAD on the same day. Even though the instructions for EAD says that you have to file at the same service center where you filed your I-485, the INS district office do seem to be issuing EAD\'s.
