waiting time for EAD in NJ ?

Hey everyone!

I've filed my I-765 petion on October 1,2006 .
I went for fingerprints in Newark,NJ on October 23,2007.
I have received an appointment for my first interview on February 28,2007 but I haven"t received yet my EAD card.
Does anyone know how long is the wait for EAD in NJ?

Also,my driver's licence expired on Jan 1 and I heard that I cann't renew it without the card !
What should I do??

EAD's are processed at the NBC. On 12/18/2006, they were processing cases with a ND of 9/28/2006. Yours should be coming up soon. Any LUD activity lately?

Quick question ...When did u get the interviee letter ? We have files for AOS for my wife at Newark as well and are waiting after the finger print . Just wondering how long it would be before we get the IL .

I've received my interview letter on December 29,2006 and I am scheduled to go to the Mont Laurel office (replacing Cherry Hill,NJ) even if my Fingerprints were scheduled at Newark.
I am still waiting for my EAD wondering why is it taking so long???

Monica,

Make an info pass, USCIS is not living up to its standard, they never do in anyway. You are supposed to be issued an EAD within 45-90 of receipt of your application, so they are past this by couple of days....

Are u applying for jobs yet? If I were you, will do so. In order to ensure that once it is issued, you know who is going to offer you a job. After you are issued an EAD, just go to DMV and see if they can't help you. All DMV's are NOT created equal, you can find a level headed person (which is rare at a DMV), and you could be helped by renewing your DL... I hope you won't take chances and drive with an expired DL. I am terrrified of cops in NJ.. If I could drive up to NY without going through NJ turnpike, would love to do it.... Alternatively, if Corzine could declare no State Trooper days on NJ turnpike, would love to go full speed on the turnpike to NY.

If you like, wait till they process your case in couple of week, and look for it in the mail. If you don't receive anything, raise hell with them via an info pass...

As al said, schedule an infopass. I did the same and was able to get my EAD within the 90-day time period.
