Waiting for too long .. Pl advise.. HELP

My I-485 was filed at VSC in Nov 2001 (almost 5 yrs now) and is still pending. Every time I check the status, I get a standard letter saying that it is still pending security and background check........

What should I do ? Pl advise ? Is there any way to expedite it ? Can I go to some court to sue immigration.

Appreciate the help. It is little too frustrating for me now.
