Hello there, is somebody able to assist with the following question?
sent my I-130, G-325A, I-485, I-864, I-693 and I-765 to the USCIS office in Chicago which was received and signed by then on May 12th. My current L-1B visa will expire on June 6th and so far I have not received any receipt application number. As the USCIS has already signed the receipt of the documents am I still legally allowed to work for my current employer or do I have to resign from my current position until I receive the EAD?
Really appreciate your replies.

PS: This is a very very nice information forum.

I am really sorry to say that you can not work without EAD. Filing out all forms doesn't give you permission to work. You need to have approved EAD>
Also getting a Receipt will not give you a right to work. You still have to wait for approved EAD.

Hi Amishah, thanks a lot for your quick reply. Fortunately I was already prepared for that and have the support of my employer. Just thought there might be a chance. Once again thanks a lot.
