Do you know what is it that is holding up your case? Like name check, background check etc.? or is it some deadlock scenario where in you are waiting to hear from them and they are waiting for you to respond to their query that you never received (lost in mail)??

Like with very many others, this is probably a "name check" thing (at InfoPass appointment, USCIS reps. usually tell people about name check if it is indeed what causes the delay).

Thanks to Publicus and his followers, many people by now successfully implemented very effective technique of fighting name check delays. This is filing 1447b petition with a local court. One can file Pro Se or hire a lawyer (who will probably charge a lot).

Many people on this forum, including myself, successfully filed Pro Se and got naturalized within a few months after filing.

If you are seriously interested in filing Pro Se, you need to carefuly read first 10-20 pages of a Publicus founded thread (including "Steps to take to file a lawsuit"): http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=194681. You will also need to do some substantial homework that in particular includes thread searches by keyword or username. By now, this thread became a huge collection of opinions and experiences where virtually every question has been answered more than once, so searching the thread can be quite rewarding. Also, many people there are friendly, willing to share and give advice, and can be very helpful.

Good luck.
