Hello, I had applied for GC thru my employer in 2005.. however in EB 3 category it didn't go far and I was on EAD and had just gotten laid off when my husband got his citizenship. We had been married for 2 yrs so we decided to apply for my GC thru my husband and thats we did. Everything went smoothly... fingerprinting, new EAD.. even AP.. we got an interview a month ago. Our interview went very well.. the councellor was very pleased and said that he would approve right away.. BUT, since I had a prev application of I 485 he just wanted to get the alien number from that application before he can approve, so he said that we will get the green card in 4 weeks. It has been more than 4 weeks now and no word. Has it happened to anyone else? How long will it take? What can I do to expedite this? Please advice!!

i do not mean to be rude but this same story is in the forum over a 1000x.
Answer you need to make info and make sure you remember the name of the IO and explain your case,they will ask you to close the 1st I485 and if every other thing is fine you will get approve in 2 to 3 weeks.remember not every body you meet during info pass are IO.so u need to explain your case.you have to close the 1st I485 before your case can be adjudicated.
note till you close the 1st I 485 you will not get an progress on the family base petition.

Withdraw your previous I-485, since it's not adjudicated yet you have to withdraw it before proceeding with a family based one.
