Waiting Asylum decision

Hi everyone, I've gotten the decision. I got a NOID. Apparently just being in legal status is not enough extraordinary circumstance to be exempt from the one-year filing deadline (even though it is clearly stated in USCIS policy). So, for those in similar situation, please have a very convincing response to why you did not fill within one year of entering the country, even if you've been in legal status. That's the only reason they intend to deny my case.

believe me there’s still light at the end of the tunnel you will still get approved just provide them those information and keep faith alive am rooting for you. What year exactly did you file??

I myself filed 14 months after arrival date, but they approved my case! The policy clearly says that if you valid lawful immigration status, the one year bar does not apply to you!
 
Thank you to everyone on this forum who contributes and to everyone who are still waiting, I wish you all the best of luck. Just wanted to share my timeline for those who are interested.

Hello everyone I had my interview on march 2025 after filing in 2015 then on the interview date in march my interview started at 3pm and we couldn’t finish so Uscis rescheduled me for may 2025 which I believed we finished everything but I just received a call from my lawyer yesterday stating I have been rescheduled for another interview for next month please what do you people think am nervous I thought I had gotten this out of the way

Stay positive, calling you back in my mind means they are tilting towards approval, just remain calm and pray

I did not provide any justification. The issue here is that having immigration status is not automatically considered an exception to the one-year bar. I think you should file the motion, talk with your lawyer, and provide reasons why you failed to apply for asylum within one year
 
Hey guys, anyone here got a decision from the Bethpage (NY) office recently? I finished my interview at the end of August, still waiting for a decision. AO said the decision will be mailed to my address. Does anyone have a good idea on how long this pending will take? I have attached my timeline below. Thanks!

A few notes about what happened in the interview:
- AO acknowledged that I submitted a ton of evidence, and it feels satisfying.
- AO said my case is an "easy case" (not sure what that means, in a good or bad way)
- Near the end of the interview, AO asked about law enforcement training, I had to tell them I'm volunteering for the NYPD in their Auxiliary Police Program, and have received weapon trainings (only baton, no firearm. this is purely a civilian volunteer program). Her supervisor got immediately "interested" and made her ask me 5 more questions about the program, my training, and if I ever had to use the baton at all (I never did).

Best wishes on what is hopefully a positive outcome, ur entire process hs been less than 3 months, a lot of us here would just read your post and shrug , snigger or smirk and you can understand thats human nature , why you may ask? cos most of us have been here for over 7 years , so 7 weeks seems kinda out of this world , either way we wish you the best
 
I had my asylum interview earlier this month and I am still waiting for a decision. However, during the interview, the asylum officer did not ask if I wanted to add anything else. Has anybody else experienced the same? Is it normal?

not sure what that means but i think it's not an issue. you probably submitted a ton of evidence (like i did), or at least a satisfactory amount of evidence. at the beginning of the interview, they are required to ask if you submitted anything at the check in desk and if you have anything else you want to submit directly to them.
