Waiting Asylum decision

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well I got a notification that USCIS Chicago AO mailed me something, but I haven’t received anything yet, It’s been 6 months waiting asylum Decision, and the case tracker isn’t showing any new updates either. Has anyone experienced this before? How long did it take for your mail to arrive after the status update? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Dear, It looks like we’re in the same boat—I also received an update yesterday saying, “Decision Was Mailed.” Since then, I haven’t seen any additional updates either, like “Fee Waived” or “New Card Is Being Produced.”

I completely understand how anxious and uncertain this waiting period can feel. Like you, I’ll remain on edge until the actual decision letter arrives. All we can do now is stay hopeful and positive.

Wishing you the very best with your outcome—let’s hope for some good news for both of us.

Yeah I get what you mean it’s a tough wait for both of us but I think our situations are a little different in my case the status doesn’t say decision was mailed yet, I just saw that USCIS sent me something in the mail, but I’m not sure what it is so I’m still waiting to find out if it’s the decision or something else Hoping we both hear good news soon

Dear I just got home from work and found the mail from USCIS. It turns out it’s just a response to the inquiry I made 60 days ago. They said my case is still under review at the office and I have to keep waiting. Honestly, it’s a bit stressful—I was really hoping it would be the actual decision. The waiting is exhausting

waiting for a decision from November 2024 (8 months), so you are not alone :)

If you are approved your case number can be added to uscis account. Otherwise you got a referral to EIOR. There might be delay in EIOR but it can be added USCIS account almost in 24 hours after approval. Assuming your approval is based on interview.
