Interview Scheduled Dec 31 2025
Interview rescheduled Feb 11 2025 (Due to the snowstorm)
New interview scheduled Mar 27 2025
Interview conducted May 16 2025
Fees were waived June 3 2025
Overall took almost 8 years.

My parents had a similar timeline, except that their interview was not rescheduled, but conducted at Feb 13 2025, and they got the same status change today as well.

Decision pickup date 04/01/25, and today asylum office called me and informed your decision delayed, once ready will mail your address.

7-April status changed now “decision pending”
3-June status change to “application pending”

Today I picked up my decision in Arlington office and my case was approved, I received a 3-page approval letter along with an i-94 small card with "asylum status granted indefinitely" blue stamp

Timeline:

5 August 2016: Application received by USCIS
10 January 2017: Applied for initial EAD
25 March 2017: Received initial EAD
Applied for EAD renewal three times in between
2 April 2025: Received interview scheduled notice
28 April 2025: attended and completed interview in Arlington office
19 May 2025: Decision pickup day but was informed at office that it was rescheduled for another 3 weeks and received a letter later that day with same info
9 June 2025: Picked up decision in person

Right away my status online updated 3 times
- we received your i-765 form
- fees waived for i-765 form
- you picked up your decision

I expect in the coming days it will update to "new card produced" then "we mailed your new card"

I am grateful for how things turned out and wish you all the best.

Almost 10 years

I have had my interview in Arlington Office on May 29th .... with interview notice received on April 30th ....

Looking at your approval issued within 3 weeks of interview is encouraging

I know some people who are waiting for more than 2 months now for a decision but i can also understand their complications ... like their interview lasted for more than 8 hours ....

Mine was 2 hours .... super straight ... everything checked out .... just changes on i589 .. like address updates etc ..... the only hiccup is , my attorney was supposed to submit his closing remarks which he still hasn't ....
