finally, it's over. just received an e-mail from USCIS that my I-485 has been approved on 2004-NOV-05. have not received the actual approval notice yet. have made an Infopass appointment for 2004-NOV-19. hopefully, i'll get the notice by then...

here's my complete case history:

LC applied - 2000-OCT
LC appvd - 2001-APR
I-140 appvd - 2001-DEC-31
I-485 ND - 2002-FEB-12
1st FP - 2002-MAR-27
1st fax inquiry - 2004-JUL-20
Reply - 2004-JUL-29 (Your FPs have expired. Please wait 60 days.)
2nd fax inquiry (Div XII) - 2004-SEP-30
Reply - Never recieved one but got an FP notice though on 2004-OCT-04.
2nd FP - 2004-OCT-07
3rd fax inquiry (Div XII) - 2004-OCT-26 (Said that FBI had sent my FPs back on 2004-OCT-07 and my file shud be ready for adjudication)
I-485 AD - 2004-NOV-05

no RFE, no interview. moral of the story is: be patient, fax inquiries, follow their wait times (that is, if they say wait 60 days, then wait... don't fax everyday!), and always include responses from previous inquiries, if any.

thanks prashanthk. yeah, it has been a long 33 month wait.

just wanted to update everybody that i received the courtesy copy of my approval notice on 2004-NOV-09. it was mailed from CSC on 2004-NOV-08.

the approval notice says that i shud go to the LA office, but i've scheduled my InfoPass appt with the Santa Ana sub-office bcos i live closer to Santa Ana (and also bcos InfoPass suggested that one, based on my zip).
