My RD is 9/10/01. FP 01/16/02. Still waiting.

INS officer says that they are waiting for background check. They say that for months now. What can I do?

Lawyer told me last week that the new AP has been approved. Nothing received yet. How long does it take for the AP to go through mail to my place in the Bay Area?

Lawyer office called the INS and an officer told them that AP was approved and that I485 was pending on FBI background check.

No fax.

Why BG check takes so long?

My case is also pending because of no background( or investigation) report back. I did FP in December last year. What could be the reason? Any inputs and guess are welcome.
