VSC NJ: Unable to make FP date. Please help!!!!

I leave for India this weekend and will be returning a week after my scheduled FP date. Do I :-
1. Go to the Newark office now and ask to get FP done or reschedule.
( Is FP earlier even possible? ). What time is ideal to go there?
2. Go to the Newark office on my return and ask to get FP done or reschedule.
3. Mail in my FP notice with a request for reschedule ( This is the procedure on the FP notice).

If it was me in your place I would postpone my trip

Well if the reason to go to india is not that urgent then i would spend some $$ for postponement than reschedule and scrw up the 2/3 years old process ... This is my 2 cents worth ...

my view

Going to Newark office should help. Some ASCs do take finger prints in advance so you may get it done. Incase they can\'t do it they can change the date on the notice and fix up a new date for you.
 
Delaying FPrinting to add spouse

I wrote to the Finger Printing office asking to reschedule. My orig date was Nov 3. I haven\'t received a new date yet from Philly. I plan to go to India next week. I don\'t mind the 485 being delayed a little by my postponement as I plan to marry and add spouse before the approval.

1. Should I be worried about not having got a new date yet?
2. Is it ok to postpone again? I may have to if I am not here.
3. Are there any other ways of delaying the approval? I-485 RD:May1,2001, ND July16,2001

Would greatly appreciate any response. This is crucial to me.

take your ticket, go to INS office, show they it , and everything should be alright, I saw couple of

GO to INS center whcih is on the FP notice.....Explain them the situation they might do FP. instade of rescheduling. It happened to Me in chicago. I guess if this can happen in chicago it can happen any where else.
 
Newark will not accept

I tried this at Newark , they will not accept an FP request even if you explain and show tickets of your travel.
 
yes Newark dont even accept before the scheduled time even on the FP date

Hi all ..

I went to get FP 2 hours before and the lady promplty sent me back and asked to come back 30 minutes before the scheduled time

the Fp proces was fast and simple. intime to out time approx 1hour 20 minutes

The office did not look that crowded or no long lines ...the contrary to what i was told by everyone :)
