VSC Approvals - Long Week Ends are our Nightmares

I have seen this happen. Whenever a long weekend approaches, the approvals from VSC trickles and comes to a grinding halt till the week after the holidays. It is typical of the government employees not to work for a week anticipating the holidays and relax for a week after the holidays.

So I don\'t have any hopes of November cases taken up before September 10th.
 
People expect Nov 2000 approvals when...

Those who filed even in Aug 2000 are languishing !
Cant imagine somebody called Gautam Buddha (the embodiment
of patience and Ahimsa ) being so impatient although
his ND is only Nov 2000 !

Donot blame the INS officers. Many of us also do not work near long weekends. This is sheer hypocricy on ur part to talk like this. They are also human. SO have a mercy specially when u r posting as buddha.

Advice needed. Pregnancy question.

Hi, I want to send my wife to India for Child Birth. I applied for my 485 3 weeks back. Because she will be past the time of travelling in January, I need to send her to India before December end. I am not sure about the following:

1. What happens if they give FP is beyond December 2001?
2. What happens if the baby is born there and we get approval one month after the baby is born?

   With all this weak economy, layoffs, 485, etc I am just trying to stay sane. Adding to all this pain is that Madras does not take Attorney certified Consular Process. Has anyone been in my situation? What did you do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Come on guys, get real. They have been in vacation mood for at least two weeks.

I donot doubt your patriotism, but with this situation of yours (485 pending etc.) maybe makes more sense in having child here.

You are really patriotic or dont want to go through the ordeal here. I had sent my wife to india for my son\'s birth. Please think twice before you do that instead of worrying so much.

I would suggest that you have your baby here. If you are concerned about the baby getting Indian Citizenship, the child can get Indian or US citizenship. But if the baby is born in India, he/she can get only Indian citizenship and you will have problems getting him/her into the USA.
