VSC 485 Approved

Folks,

After a very long wait, my 485 was approved a few days back. Here are the details:

RD: March 5, 1999
ND: March 19, 1999
FP: Feburary 2000
Case approved: June 22, 2000

PD: Jan 1996, EB3, India

No RFE, No FP-Redo, Did not contact any congressman/senator and never
spoke to an IIO.

H1 valid until Feb 2001. EAD got 7 months back, so 5 more months for it to expire. I have AP ready. Do I travel using my H1 or AP.

I heard that if your wife is using EAD (and hence AP), even if you are not using EAD, you have to use your AP..

You, please verify with your lawyer.

I got my passport stamped at the Boston INS office this morning. It took about 5 minutes once my number was called. I had to wait about 90 minutes for my turn. I arrived there at about 7:45 AM.

I handed in my 485 approval notice, 2 photos, I-94 and H1-B approval notice to the immigration officer. My fingerprints were taken and passport stamped. The officer asked me if I still was working for the employer on my H1.
