voter registration and jury duty

Is it true that you can get called for jury duty only if you register to vote? No voter registration, no jury duty??
 
I get called for jury duty every once in a while and I don't even have a GC. I think they go by DMV records (amongst others).

No, that is not true. They get names from various lists, including DMV. If you are not a citizen, you can send them letter explaining why you are not reporting for duty. If you are citizen and you do not report/explain, that can cause problems.

Why would you not want jury duty?

Thanks for the answers. That was just a general question. Nothing against jury duty.
